LOTS of mods completed this weekend, lookie here for the pics:

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/660571/7

Some choice pics and info:

Image

First off, got Tein SS installed at a friend's place. It's actually not that difficult. I could probably walk someone through doing it now (heh, don't want to get my hands dirty)...

Didn't really check how much the drop was, but it looks like about 1.5" all around (maybe a little more in the rear). I still need to adjust the dampening, ride is a little bumpy for my tastes (PS, should that be an increase in the dampening or a decrease?)

While he was doing that, his buddy installed tint for me (talk about great service!) I had originally wanted 35% 3M film all around... but the installer pretty much guranteed that I'd get a fixit ticket if I had that amount all around... so instead of 35% all around, I got 20% in the back and 50% in the front. When you're looking from the inside out, it does NOT look like 20% (I was told this was 3M's premium film).

The same guys also did my clear bra (you may or may not be able to see it in the pics).

Image

Finally installed the rims I picked up from Mark, and while I had the stockies off, I also painted the calipers... I just used engine enamel and taped everything off. Warning though, use good tape! The masking tape I was using actually let the paint go through :-? This is about 4 coats of gloss black and 2 coats of clear coat.

Oh yeah, don't mind the white stuff on the rims, it's just wheel wax that I didn't have time to remove.

EDIT!!! I forgot about my TRD Front Strut Tower Brace!!!

the car looks great! Did you remove the calipers from the rotors to paint them or just left it on?

I was a lazy butt... I removed the two bolts from the caliper, slid off the middle section, put some tape underneath, then placed the middle back on... and spray painted from there... it was a really quick/messy job... it would have looked tons better had I spent more time...

Tein SS's has an all in 1 setting which is good enough. Hard is better so that the rebound rate is lesser. Soft increases rebound rate. If u can understand, since i'm a Gen1, your weight settings are different from mine but I know exactly wut my front damper settings are which is @ 3 clicks from MAX Hard. Look up your part on Tein's website for the instructions unless you have one on hand for better setting details but I think I got it covered from what I just said.

Yah, I definitely need to change mine... I now have it at 10 in the back and 12 in front... very bumpy ride...

Gonna try some lower numbers.
