peeling chrome...

Postby thatdamngood777 » Mon Mar 06, 2006 7:18 pm

I know I'm not the only one. On my gen 1 solara, the chrome on the grill is stripping like crazy! It looks like toyota painted the f---ing s--t on! Anyone try chrome paint? Removing the factory chrome and repainting it or getting it rechromed? I'm afraid to just fill in the peeled parts with chrome paint because it may not look the same as the original chrome. I give up on the new grill buy; that seems dead and buried. Any suggestions/similar problem with anyone else? Or, like I know EVERYONE likes to do, tell me that "this was already posted right here: :insert post here:". A freshly Zainoed Solara with brand new black lights does not look as good as it can with A PEELING GRILL!

patience man.... the aftermarket grille that renova is making is pretty close to being done... they requested just a little more time... no harm in waiting... Im sure TurboSolara is still checking in on this

if its that bad of an eye-gouger, then just sand it down and paint it whatever color... no point of using the chrome paint
Retired... its been fun Image

Wow, that looks really good! Black would look great on my red colored Solara with black emblems. I haven't heard anything about the grill-buy in a loooong time. I can wait if its still on. Thanks guys.

Check out my car domain. I sanded the chrome off and painted it black. Once i get the black headlights it will finish off the look.
