Hopefully it'll work with your Y, I'm concerned about the fitment though. If I remember correctly, the Y they have now goes further up in the front than the stock one did, so you may have to trim or increase the length of the Y where it meets them.

Really????
No striaght bolt-on??????
I thought it would be straight bolton and no trimin'......

I think he's talking about the Camry, not our cars

So when I get this.. what else do I need? Cat-back exhaust?

I guess the Greddy Evo2 would hold me over until Zoni makes one for me

Dats, thanks for that, but I'm not offended at all! Megan wanted my opinions and "expertise," I'm just sharing what I'm finding with you guys. I told them numerous times that th Y design wasn't the best, but there's gotta be some reason why they did it that way.

Sleeper- This will be straight bolt-on for a solara. Mentioning cutting and trimming is for the camry guys who are interested as well as those with custom Y's.

Sean- You won't need anything, you'll be good to go with the stock exhaust. A custom would be better, but stock is fine. Good choice on Zoni. He and I were in the band at UConn together, really really good guy and a good friend of mine.

What's really the point of headers if they're backing up to a sotck exhaust? Will they be offering this as a full exhaust package as well like JPP or just headers and y pipe?

that's cool...thanks for the info and all the work

regrardless of the work that will be needed to make them fit on our carmy's, I'm sure most of us who have expressed interest will still pick up a set and see what is needed to fit them on

I was just asking about the exhaust question cuz i haven't changed mine yet... but I don't wanna miss out on the group buy price... I coulda gotten any old exhaust along time ago.. but i'm somewhat picky. I want something similar to a TRD/Borla or Remus exhaust note.. hmmm maybe I can get that now.

BTW I have a camry... so I guess I'll need some modification to something?

I plan on teaming this setup with a custom magnaflow dual exhaust if we can't get a full exhaust setup from megan.

I just talked to Sean, the owner of the shop that sponsors me. I asked about Megan's intentions with a cat-back, and he mentioned it to them but they hadn't given him much info about it. I told him that there were some people interested in a full catback as well, and he and I came up with some tenative prices for a custom catback and group buy. I'm going to start a new thread in the "gen 1-1.5 aftermarket" section with all the details, and keep this one for headers/y.

To address the concerns of Domino, in theory a bolt on aftermarket exhaust should bolt right up to the stock locations, so you can run these headers with either a stock exhaust ( we know for sure) or (we believe) any aftermarket. You would see more of a performance gain with an aftermarket exhaust, obviously.

Next weekend we start the mock-up for a Megan exhaust. Canister will be oval shaped with the offset tip (a la GReddy). As always, I'll post more when I know it.
