Not even factory, or just really dark stuff?
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

Tint

Postby JMSinMaryland » Sat Feb 15, 2003 4:14 pm

In Florida I believe front is 35/rear is 20. I had 35 all around on my Camry and I always regretted it because it was too light. On my Solara I have 20 all around and it is perfect for me. There is some 30 out there but I've never gotten hassled for 20 all around (this is in MD by the way where legal is 35 all around). Jon. p.s. check out my site for pics of the Solara, that's on a bright day.

Cops here in CA very seldom pull you over for dark tint nowadays. L.A. County though...that's a different story.

I have 50% on my fronts and 5% for the rear. I'm gonna redo the fronts and get 35% later this summer.

is it true that if you have a moonroof, and you keep it open, it'll make the tints look lighter from the outside for cops? if so, how much of a difference will it make?

35 and below are really dark. I'd say 45 and up.

I'd agree with that because I have 5% all around and if I turn on the dome light, you can see inside, but otherwise you can't. Also, during the day, I think you can see through my back window from behind because of the sunlight coming in through the front window.

I'm pretty sure there is no stock tint, besides the normal UV protection thats on there. My question is this: When I went to the Place thats gonna tint mine, they said they'd need to put a vinyl strip over the top of the rear windshield to cover the black dot matrix tint. Does this sound funny to anyone else?
