Will 235-40-17 Rub?

Just want to know if 235-40-17 rubs or not... on +40 offset 17" rims

I think they will rub... but will it be very severe?

I think it should be ok. I am using 225/40 w/ 40 offset,
it still have some clearance.

no, it wont rub. I used to have 235/45/17 tires on my car, and no rubbing at all. Make sure that the offset for the rims is 42 if possible for a 17 x 7.5" rim.

It may not rub under normal driving conditions, but I've heard a number of people with that size say that with more than one person in the back seat they get rubbing when they hit a bump or take a hard corner. It will probably be something that you can live with, but if it bothers you, you can get the fenders rolled.

what offset do u guy suggest for 225/40/18 rims?? i got the 35 offset..??? any suggestion.. i may exchange them since they haven't been installed... pls help

You'll probably be OK with 35, but 40 would be better.

I had a 35 offset on my old rims it fit Solara but rub the rear fender.
After I rolled the fender, it went fine.

I have 17 x 7.5 with 225/45/17 with a 38 offset. I had rubbing problems, but I rolled the fenders. The problem is gone except whenn I have people in the back or turn hard. I'll have to use the ol' louisville slugger to roll the fender more.

would the rim size matter.. since i have 18's with 225/40/18,i was thiking of getting the 40 offset or 42 offset. but then im afraid of getting rub against the rear strut.. anyone have that problem b4??? they r 18x7.5.. if i was to choose between 40 or 42 what would u guys suggest.. ????

I don't think you'll have a problem with either of those offsets. I know of at least one person who is using a 42 offset with the exact size tire and wheel you mentioned, and he thinks it's perfect.
