I think that it's Plugs, Fuel Filter, Air Filter, PCV that are automatically replaced.
Fuel cap gasket, radiator cap, accessory belts, coolant, hoses, plugwires, should be checked and replaced as necessary. I would also check all you other fluids and replace them as necessary.
Running a quick vacuum test on the motor is good to get a quick picture of its overall health. Personally, I like to run compression test, since I am taking the plugs out, but I am pretty anal retentive and like to have a lot of advanced warning for potential problems. Cleaning the intake should also be done. I think you're supposed to adjust the valve clearances every 60k on the FE motors also, but this is not really something that most people want to get into, as it's a pain on a 4 cylinder, and even more difficult on a 6.
As for plugs, what does your user’s manual say? There should be a preferred plug, or two, listed with their recommended gapping. I believe it's an NGK, or Denso, 2 electrode platinum plug that is recommended. For the other parts, use OEM (expensive), or good quality aftermarket (like what you get at Advance or Napa) parts.
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.
