You can still see the brakelights tho, but i already got pulled over because they couldnt see my driving night lights. I'm goign to redo them, but in terms of looking good, they look pretty sick and they make the stock gen 1.5 tails look SLIGHTLY less gay. haha later guys

your probably got the vht black paint instead of the vht translucent black paint. look at my profile, mine are vht translucent. i just did my buddies with the 'black' vht and it looked like crap. way to black and ugly.

mineral spirits cleans up your lenses unless you clear coated it already.

Where did you guys buy your paint and clear coat? Any brands on the clear coat in particular? If not then I'm buying Rustoleum.

Thanks for the link. I was doing some more searching and found where FreakinJARED used JDM paint. http://www.k2motor.com/alp01sm.html I was wondering how that compares.

What brand/type of clear coat did everyone use? I don't want to use the wrong kind. I'll be using this if it's okay Image

I just want to make sure I get it all right. My gen 1 lights should be here in about a week. I'll be joining the many who look like this http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=23785

I was just looking at a website called Andy's Auto Parts. APPARENTLY, they have tailight covers for the solara. Anyone willing to check them out?

... i guess i can see where toyota was going with the "solara" and the sun-like contour designs, but i feel the gen1 tail lights were cleaner & went w/ the lines of the solara better...

I got the chrome ones and smoked them with hobby shop tinting paint. Its for model cars and its just as cheap as anything else (VHT) but easier to get. Plus the clear coat is mixed in so it has a glossy finish
