straight up, sell it and get a stick or a different car. If thats not an option then

TRD supercharger
2.9" pulley
Tokico/eibach suspension. It'll provide much better 1/4 mile times
Magnecor KV-85 spark plug wires
Denso Iridium IK22 spark plugs
Cat back exhaust
JP performance headers(contact Ericsol)
Dont forget an auto tranny build up. Send out the torque converter to level10

trans work (www.levelten.com)
eiback springs/tokico strut
TRD rear sway bar
Greddy EVO

Well Willy, we've had a rough start and it is time to bury it. We have opposing views on certain subjects and that is fine ...... we are all adults here. Seeing as we are both Canucks, I can be one of your more valuable resources here.
If you want "go" the TRD supercharger will run you about $5200 Can. (no that is not a misprint) and exhaust will run anywhere from $700 to $1100 Can (or more). Air intakes will cost around $400. The APEXi S-AFC will cost just shy of $800.
If you want "show" the TRD drop kit will run about $500 and you can expect the same for the rear sway bar. The TRD body kit will cost about $2000, while other body kits go for about $1600 (buyer beware on fit and finish). As you probably already know, wheels and tires are can run as high as you want, mine were $900 per corner.

Hope this helps.

whats the conversion rate from canadian to US. Thats extremely expensive. If you have to pay a tax on all the parts being imported, drive down to the states, have it all installed and then drive back with your newly supercharged car

From another Fellow Canuck:

I bought the S/C from Toysport for $2800 US including shipping (on credit card), which worked out to about $4500 Canadian before GST, and installed it myself. I bought my 2.75" pulley from Pulleyboys for $80 US, or about C$125 plus GST. I have an Apexi WS cat back exhaust on order from Diablo Power Products in Red Deer, Alberta for C$800 plus GST. I will drive down to get it so there is no shipping. You can buy a WS for about $500 plus shipping out of the US, but you are no further ahead.

The local Edmonton Toyota dealer wanted over $5500 Canadian for the S/C, plus installation. It does pay to shop around.

I am closely following the adventures of Jim @ Foreign Affairs (Camryman board) about some new headers and Y pipe for $500 US. We should know more in mid March.

Don't be lured in by the dark side, keep your automatic. It can provide plenty of performance. There are a number of us running high performance engines with the auto.

Let us know what you do. We all learn from eachother here.

Hey George, when did you get that quote from Mayfield Toyota in Edmonton? I got quoted $5200 back in July or August, damn their rates are high, eh? Good for you on the $4500 deal. I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only Albertan taking the plunge, and putting up the big $$$ to hot rod my Solara!
For all the American members, the Canadian $ is about 63 cents American, but customs rapes us at the border with duties and taxes. If one can get away with it, it would pay to get all your work done in the U.S. as long as you never got caught at the border 'cause then it's pay up or get impounded.

Thats very true about the autos running better numbers but they do take more mods. Most cars that see track time are auto. It is highly prefered because its so consistent. Never realized exactly how close level 10 was to me(about 30 minutes away) so i'm gunna have to take a trip down there

Actually Craig my quote came from Toyota Village South down on Calgary Trail (or Gateway BLVD as they are calling it now) This was last summer, they had never installed one and they never did get me a quote on the install price even after like 3 weeks. So I said nuts to that and did it myself.

The way I look at it, if you want a fast convertible with a back seat you can use, the choices are very limited. The hot rodded Solara is still a lot cheaper than something like a BMW M3 convertible at $85,000 a pop!

Hows the weather down in the Hat? Its seriously cold here (-25 C)
