changed valve cover gasket and a/f sensor today

Changed valve cover gasket and a/f sensor today for the first time. Used the instructions from Chilton manual (for the gasket) and tutorials from this forum (for the sensor). :D

Changing valve cover gasket is easy - it took me ~1 hour; the most important part is to clean the mating surfaces with acetone.
Changing the a/f fule sensor was also an easy job - I drove the car around for half an hour to really warm it up and thanks to that it came off more or less easily.

The dealership wanted to charge me $230 for changing the valve cover gasket + $280 for changing the a/f sensor incl. parts + tax.

I spent $14 for the gasket (bought at the dealership) and $154 for the a/f sensor (OEM Denso, direct fit - purchased online). I also changed the PCV valve - cost me $6 from the dealership. The tools were loaned from Autozone for free - torque wrench and oxygen sensor wrench set.

To sum it up, I saved $366 by replacing the parts myself. It feels AWESOME! :bday:

Thanks!

I've been lurking around this great forum for a long time and the fact that so many people did DIYs gave me confidence that I can do much of the maintenance myself without shelling out $$$.

Plus a another great thing is that when you work on your car you know nothin' can go wrong unless you read the DIY wrong too.

I have already purchased the gasket off eBay and fixing to replace this weekend. Do you have a soft copy of the 'Chilton manual'?

Thanks
