The 3/5S-FE is a remarkably durable, and simple, motor. It is one of the most durable in terms of longevity that I have ever seen. Granted the newer motors like the 2az have yet to really start seeing the high miles. Rippmods made a SC kit, and header for the motor both of top notch stuff, but they’re out of production. It's easy, as in the parts are known and acquirable, but expensive to turbo. There is a good amount of internals support available. It's a very expensive motor to build. If I was starting over, and had not spent the time and money on my current setup, I would just trade it in for a V6. Then I would supercharge it, do the heads, the fuel system, and a good aftermarket A/F tune. Still probably come out way ahead on the deal cash wise than trying to get the 5S to what a 1MZ makes in its factory form. If you are really stuck with the car / motor I recommend doing the head, and getting a mild turbo setup. If you need to go NA there is a stroker kit that will take it up to a 2.7. Anyway the stuff is out there, but none of it is cheap. Good luck on the project.
Please don’t type in all caps. It means that you are yelling.
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.
