Damn Toyota Dealership!!!

i'm on my way to my bball game, doing 5mph over the speed limit, and BAM!!....hit a big azz pothole. i notice a weird feeling while driving and pull over. my tires are flat. i dunno if i've got a bent rim or not. i'll find out tomorrow. but i'm there, about to change the flat tire thinking i'll make it in time for my game when i noticed something....wheel locks. what's funny is that my dealership never told me and never game me the wheel lock key. that's basically like taking away my spare tire. i've got no use for it if i don't have the key to take the damn thing off. so then i have to call the road side assistance program that came along with my "certified" toyota. beyatch put me on hold like 5 times. seriously....is that really necessary?! so anyway, i'm home, pissed off like stuff...w/o my baby and no car to get me to work tomorrow. man, is toyota gonna get it tomorrow. oh yeah, we ended losing by like 20 pts.

Sorry to hear that man. Did you have your stock 16" rims on there? You probally wouldn't have bent a rim because you have so much tire tread with the stocks. My wheel lock key was sitting in my spare tire

heheh..i hope that wasn't my company, cause we just started doing a major toyota roadside program for another motor club (ERS) that was shut down for not paying their taxes or something.

dealers are famous for not telling custs about locking lugs. (especially infiniti  )

the key should be in there somewhere, but it's possible they "forgot". sometimes it's in the spare like yank said, or in the tire change kit, or sometimes even in the glove box.

so did you just have the car towed home till you could get a hold of the dealer?

Sorry to hear about your ordeal, but honestly, it just sounds like an unfortunate but certainly not tragic sequence of events. I can understand why you're upset, but I don't think anything will really be accomplished by arguing with the dealer, especially if you take your car there for repairs and oil changes. Btw, Sears and other places sell special sockets to remove stripped bolts that will also work on wheel locks. Anyway, good luck with the outcome, and I wouldn't get too pissy with the dealer if you want them to take good care of your car. I say just call in sick to work and enjoy the day off (if possible).

haha..just don't yell at the roadside reps!! you get better service if you're a sweetheart..especially if the rep knows you're SOL (like w/ the locking lugs) cause then it makes us feel bad (well..sometimes  ).

it may seem like we do stuff unecessarily (sp?)..but it's for a reason. lol..trust me..we want to get you off the phone as much as you want to get off it! :D

I wouldn't necessarily blame it on the Toyota dealer. It's usually a small overlooked item. Considering you bought your car certified, it's not surprising they forgot. It happened to a friend of mine in that exact same situation.
