243 fwhp is very good for a street car. Good luck with your tuning and I hope you push your car to a whole new level.

To be honest bro I really dont know how to read the A/F chart. Only thing I remember hearing the guy said to his other workers there was that its 13 something? No idea. But the guy tuning my car said Ive maxed out my Injector and that he couldnt fix it until I get bigger injectors. When it comes to A/F and reading and understanding it..... I have NOOO idea :(

Someone teach me.

nice numbers, I'm sure its still extremely fast. You havto figure that cars like the evo, sti, and 350z make around the same wheel hp so this is damn respectable for a solara. 300 flywheel makes for one quick car, period. I'm sure your enjoying it dats, keep up the good work.

We mod our cars cuz we can...and want

Solara is not a luxury car.

And if you want good gas milage you should have gotten echo or corolla.

Oh yea and supercharger that people have is made by toyota so it's not really modding it's upgrading, if that makes sense.

So a 30,000 dollar car is considered a nice car.. may be not luxury but it sure has a lot of nice features compared to my mustangs. As far as your gas mileage comment, I modded all of my stangs to the point where they got 9-12 mpg... so a solara is a big step up from that.

It doesn't matter who made the supercharger, its modifying the engine from the factory.. even though it is a Toyota part.

I guess I could consider you guys who modify these cars... ricers.

i don't think "moddifying" a car should just be limited to "non-luxury" cars. anyone can mod any damn car out there, but i think it's HOW they go about modding it that defines one from a "ricer" from an "enthusiast".

if we'd all been out buying that lame "jet" chip off of ebay and installing it in our cars, then i'd say...that's ricey.

Your air fuel ratio is just that. the ratio of air to fuel by weight. Too rich, you foul plugs and get funky exhaust. Too lean and you detonate, and eventually end up with a nice hole in your piston.
If you've maxed your injectors and you're looking for 300, you should upgrade your fuel system further.

As an aside, I think ricer dosn't apply as long as your mods are tasteful. Besides, what's wrong with a 300 hp luxury car?

agreed 100% you can mod any car and you can make any car ricey or fast and good looking.

And I wish i could put supercharger on my car and have anything close to those numbers listed in this forum.

I think 300fwhp for this car is more than enough. My engine is stock and wish my car was AWD or RWD when I floor is from a stop. Would not your wheels just spin if you tried to put all that power on them?

actually doesn't a solara consist with a touch of luxury and sport?

At least that's what I thought when I first bought my car.

Those numbers are quite impressive Dat. But I know by the time summer is over it'll be higher than that.

To each his own buddy, to each his own.

Most of the tuning community around where I live is mad eup of V8 domestics liek your GT. So I'm usually hanging with them. One of my best buds drives a Procharged Mach 1 and has mad respect for my car. HAving ridden in my car and our friends 04GT with intake and pulleys, he says mine pulls harder from pretty mch any roll. I like the way the Solara looks more than any Mustang I've ever seen, and that's why I choose to modify and tune it. Sure I could pick up a GT for the same price I got my Solara at, but in no way shape or form would I want to. Nothing makes up for the look on people faces when I pull on cars they never thought I'd stand a chance against. Plus I know and trust Toyotas to hold up, and they're great cars.

So Mr. Mustang, I have respect for any other car out there, and my buddys who tune cars like your mustangs around here have respect for my car. I can and will give a nod to anybodys desire to tune any car they chose, and I don't understand why you can't either. So al that considered I'm going to give you a nice big screw off for calling me a ricer. Have a nice day douche.

LOL- Chris go easy man. I haven't looked or posted here in some time but man I had to jump on this. My Camry can run stride for stride with a
new GT ( not from a stop mind you ) and still return 28 mpg on the highway setting my cruise. Keep the energy positive. A poster like that is just looking for a reaction or is pretty closed-minded. Have fun and represent the Sol/Cam community with a silver tongue.

Back to you Dat. Those are very good numbers given what you have. JB dynoed back a some time ago at 243whp with his automatic and he is a smart dude when it came to tuning. By the way I have 6 Bosch 318 that only have about 15k on them that I got from URDUSA. PM me if you are interested. Keep it up, oh and 13s for a/f ratio is too high. You should be running in the low 12s at the top of your rpms. Low 13s are ok for low boost low rpms but as boost rises you should get into the 12s and stay there even high 11s at the top. In time you will break away your ring lands and eventually start losing compression and power. Slow progressive loss will creep up on you. Then it is time to go into the big money to pull the motor apart. You really should spend to some time looking though Joeb's posts. A lot of info he posted here on tuning.
I have moved onto a Lexus GS 400 so I haven't/don't check here often anymore. Good luck Tex!!

I had that kind of feeling too when I bought my car.

Also those are really good #'s Dat given that you're having some minor engine issues. Just keep at it mayn, 300 whp can be done. 8)
