i got 41,000 miles on my 99' Toyota Solara SLE, is their a recommended time frame or amount of miles that the system should be flushed and changed?? also, what goes in, Dexcool??

i beleive the trans fluid should be changed every 15k miles and flushed every 30-60k

Make sure to use Dextron III. 5.0 qts. required for the 1MZ with auto.

The manual tranny on a 1MZ requires 4.2 qts. of API GL-4 or GL-5 gear oil with a viscosity of SAE 75W-90.
2.3 qts. are required for the 5S engine with manual tranny.

Dexcool is anti-freeze which is something you don't want to put in your tranny. You do need to use Dexron/Mercon NOT "DEXTRON"...either III or IV. It would be smart to get a whole tranny flush (not drain and refill) every 30k miles.

Gear oil is correct. I change mine when the shifting gets rough. Every 30k or more often is a good reference to get it changed.
