question about stock head unit

I'm currently trying to re-build my SQ system from my last car but don't reaaallly feel like buying a new head unit:)

my question is this; those of you using the stock head unit with external amps (line-out converter) how does it sound? is the output voltage solid etc. any help would be appreciated.
