Nokya Lights

Ok so my one of my silverstars burned up already, less than a year of having them, but anyway I started to dislike them after I met up with mike (mikes artic frost) and saw his lights. He has nokya stage II artic lights. I thought he actually did the hid conversion when I saw his car but I was just wondering what you guys think I should go with. Either the Nokya Stage II Artic Whites, or the Stage II Artic Purples? Keep in mind I want the ones that look more closely like hids and im not sure which one will bring me closer to that. Also the artic purples are 8500k, will this melt my headlight housing? And I know a bunch of you will probably ask me why I just dont get hids but the reason is the cost. I just dont see the point in spending give or take like $500 bucks for lights. Thanks in advance.

As long as you stick to 60/55W you'll be fine... dont go any higher or what you said will happen

Michael should share some pics lol... but pics sometimes dont show the true lighting like in person

Mike is running the Stage II lights that are 100/120W with his stock housing. Is there a difference between the gen1 and gen2 solara?

Man i think my Silver Star headlights are about to burn out too.

Same question here? At 120w any stock oem headlight harness should burn?? Did you see the new nokya cosmic whites?

what is the difference between the arctic purple and arctic white? considering i have arctic white in my car.

Well its not the wattage im worried about. The higher wattage is just pulling more power from the car to keep the lights lit. I think if the more power being pulled the more fuses could be blown, but I can just change the fuses. Im more concerned about the heat produced from the more power. I believe our stock lights run at about 2500k. My silverstars burn at 4000k. Now the Artic Whites burn at 7000k which may be close to pushing it. But I know several people who have them and dont have problems. But I was thinking of the Artic Purples just to be different and those burn at 8500k and that is a heck of a lot. I think im just going to go with the Artic Whites since I know they should be fine.

NYYankee - I was talking about the light housing not the harness. But you do bring up another good point. But I think is should be ok since Mike is running them on his car and so is solarablue. Im sure others are too. I saw the cosmic whites but I think those are just pure white like the silverstars and I want the HID look. Im ordering the Artic Whites Ill let you guys know what I think. Not sure thats why i was asking, lol my guess is one is bright with a blue tint to it and the other is bright with a purple tint to it.

Actually you SHOULD be concerned about the wattage... thats what will burn your wiring harnesses which could lead to a couple hundred of dollars to replace.... electrical shyyyttt aint cheap :lol:

the Kelvin rating is a rating of the color... such as 3000k is more yellow, 4300k is pure white, 6000k goes closer to a blue tint, 8000k and up go closer to purple

I am unsure how much the Gen 2 stock wiring harnesses can take in wattage, but im sure any Gen2 member would be glad to assist

I found out some more info. The draw power on these lights are 60/55W and the output power is the 100/120W. The draw power is how much power it takes from the car and the output power is the brightness. Like when you look at flashlight ratings they have a output power that tells you how bright the flashlight is. Sometimes they do this by telling you the candle power too. So think candle power. So that means these lights are what WTF said so technically they should definatly be fine. The purple lights draw 90/100W and since WTF just posted after i made this post he just cleared up all my questions. So thank you WTF! I guess that means all I can get are the Artic blues. Ill be getting them too, im sick of silverstars. Pepboys has them a little cheaper i think around 18 bucks.

if youre worried, buy a wiring harness. ive seen them around $15 and i believe theyre plug and play.

Yeah I saw that harness. I just orderd the blue ones. I feel really dumb right now. I made something really easy into something hard. What WTF said made me just think duh after he explained it. Thanks again

Go to that website i linked in my first post on this thread and scroll down to the bottom. Those are the wireing harness they are talking about. Its just thicker gage wire with connectors. Do you think that will work just out of curiosity?
