What size belt for the 6psi pulley??? - Help pls!!

For those of you that have upgraded your stock 4psi pulley to something else (i.e. 5.5, 6 or 7psi) did you also replaced your serpentine belt or did you keep the old one. If so, what belt did you guys get and where can I get one like that. When I upgraded my stock pulley to the 6psi I kept the same belt so before I take the whole thing apart in trying to figure out what is wrong, I wanted to see if maybe the belt is the root cause of the problem. I say this because every time I spray some of the belt dressing in it, the squeaking stops and I’ve heard from other people that if the tensioner was the problem, it would still squeak yet that is not the case. The only problem is that I don’t know what size belt (or part #) I need for the 6psi and I wanted to see if you guys can help me out, thanks!

from what I understand you use the same lenth but the tensioner gets adjusted. I could be wrong though.

the newer tensioners automatically adjusted themselves. i'm assuming you have one of the new batches of tensioners. i ordered a Dayco Polycog belt a long time ago when i upgraded to my 2.6 pulley.

1st of al thanks to you guys that helped me out, I was able to purchase the belt and it's now pending install but i just wanted to share a few things with the rest of you. If you go to http://www.mvreader.com/cgi-bin/multivi ... elts=1&l=n you can enter the Part # and this will give you the description for each item in case you decide to use another brand. What i found out is the following, my car currently has belt part # 5060900, which is 90.00 inches and i come to find out that what i need is part # 5060880 which is 88.00 inches for the 6psi pulley, and the 4psi pulley is part # 5060885 which is 88.60 inches (just a bit longer, but not by much). As you can see my current belt is 2 inches longer than the rest of you guys with the right size belt and no issues, which is tremendous help if for some reason i couldnt find any Dayco belts in my area. Hopefully this will fix it once and for all!!!

I bought this belt yesterday. Is this supposed to be superior to Toyota's OEM belt? I don't know much about belt technology, but it doesn't appear to be of better quality than Toyota. The grooves don't look very deep and the material of the belt seems fragile.

Before I put this on, just wanted to know anyone's experience with it. I searched the net to get an impression, and of course I found some good reviews and some not so good reviews.

Of all searches I've found in this forum, this size belt seems to be the one that everybody gets with the same issue i'm having and so far everybody seems to be happy with it. I dont know about other reviews for other applications but from what i'm seeing here, this is the right size belt for the pulley i have now.

For the Dayco V-belts with Metric part number, the last 4 digits are the length of the belt in millimeter.

Metric No 6PK2235 2235mm/25.4 = 87.99 in.
Metric No 6PK2250 2250mm/25.4 = 88.58 in.
Metric No 6PK2285 2285mm/25.4 = 89.96 in.

00646-17620-330 S/C belt (Dayco 6PK2225) 2225 mm, or 87.6 in. for Idler plate assembly (00646-17620-320) kazuma – 1st gen/original kit for the Solara/Camy/Avalon

00602-17620-332 S/C belt (Dayco 6PK2250) 2250 mm, or 88.6 in. for Idler plate assembly (00602-17620-320) revised kit – for the solara/Camy/Avalon

00602-17620-331 S/C belt for Sienna (Dayco 6PK2286) 2286 mm, or 90.0 in. – Sienna idler plate assembly is taller so the belt is longer than the Solara/Camry/Avalon.

I’m using the 5.5-psi. pulley with the same original (90.0 in.) belt ) and no squeaking. The dynamic belt tensioner is compensating for the smaller pulley size (or older belt/elongation).
