Actually in asia i know there are toyota cars that come with factor hood emblems. Land Cruiser, mark II (good old chasers) still come with hood emblems as far as i know.
Edit: want to emphasis, its mostly cars like Century, Crown, Land Cruise...high dollar cars that comes with that. Solara/camry wouldn't be considered in that league

not only is it stupid, but it looks like a cheaply made piece of crap. It's got what look like pock marks on it, it looks out of proportion and you can see the welds.
