WTT-TRD Gen 1.5 front trade for Gen1 anyone?

Postby DatSRBoi » Tue May 09, 2006 8:56 am

Im going insane with my front TRD kit issue. Since the kit belongs to a gen 1.5 after a month of driving for so the kit pops back off. My strong double side tape cant hold it correctly. It just eventually comes off.

Anyone with a Gen 1 front kit want to trade for my front 1.5?

Arent you supposed to drill holes and bolt in the front in the kits mounting points to make the 1.5 fronts fit the Gen1?

Take it to a bosy shop for recommendations, I'm guessing $40 should be sufficient??? (not including repainting??)

Mine is holdin on just fine. I filled the gaps with Silicon caulking sealant to make things look more smooth, and it also works to hold the kit on better. I dunno if they make that caulking in a color that would look close enough to the color of your car Dat, but the black on my car works great, the kit almost looks molded on. Only thing is sand sticks to it easier and you have to spray it off.

doing something custom to the kit is the easier route.

converting into gen 1.5 would be a nightmare just for 2 front valances

There's no nightmare in converting, just mo' money in buying the parts (bumper, lights, and harnesses)! I did it!!!

Thanks guys. Im going to retry again. I did screw it on. But the bend for some reason isnt holding on and it eventually push the center part of the kit from the car.
