What activities do you use your car for mostly? (going to work/school, shows, drag, ciruit, etc)

Daily driving/show. I want it to slam for shows.

I went for the Teins because the support from Tein I was told , is better.

Plus, My boys at RCT performance told me I would be happier with this setup.... and they were correct!

I did look into JIC, and they are awesome, but in all honesty, they cater more to race cars, not daily drivers. JIC also doesnt just focus on one sole thing, while Tein is specifically only suspension, and suspension components, its like comparing Denso to Eibach... you know they are both reputable, and reliable companies, but you would probably go with Eibach for suspension, because it is their forte'.

my 2 pennies.

JIC and Tein are competitively priced..... do your homework, and go for what you believe is best for your style of driving.

Hope this helps...

Very well said. For a street/show car, I would definately recommend Tein.

Looks GREAT!!! My baby looks like its on stilts from the front sometimes(stock suspesion, rims, and tires). Plus, I think the struts are getting worn out.(106000 mi) It gets unsettled every now and then when it never used to. I would LOVE to get the Teins, but unfortunately my budget will probably only allow new struts when I do get to that point. Oh well, enjoy!

Some ppl gotta do some research as well lol. How low was your drop? The shop dropped mine to 1.5" all around. I might drop it another 0.25" or 0.50" if its possible depending on the possible height setting feasible. But have fun breaking the Tein SS's in! Wut setting are your fronts and rears at? I know my fronts are @ 4th click about from hardest on the dampers.

FYI= Don't call a coilover a Spring/Strut Combo :P The Strut is far more complex which is called the damper that can set the compression rate and ride height. A Regular strut only relies on the factory set compression rate and the bumper stomp which allows only so much of a 1 time setting change.

And also, Simple Car Tech Formula Coilovers > Strut/Spring Combo
Every D1 Driftcar uses Coilovers. For other racing events I don't know since I only like D1 but theres a high guarantee that most cars sport coilovers!

Small lil edit. Some coilovers have a electronic damper controller which allows for the most easiest settings without needing to pop open the hood or a couple panels to get to the damper setting knob. Saddly, the Solara Tein SS's isn't applicable, but when i last read I think the Celica Tein SS's were applicable for the electronic controller. Beat the lame Strut/Spring ppl to the ground!! lol :evilbat:

ill explain why the efdc doesnt owrk on our cars.. its a matter of clearance.. you see our hood sits too close for the unit to actually be mounted on the strut... the efdc is basically a lil motor that turns the strut for you so you can be lazy and set it from inside the car... thats all it really is.. its great for 10+ way adjustable dampers but for what the solara is, you dont really need it..

I find the EDFC very useful at the track. It allows me to tune my suspension on the fly lap by lap without having to pit. Its good for varying track temps as the day goes by and when the tires start slipping after a few laps as they get hotter.

Set up looks lovely, I'd get some sort of spacers for the rear wheels 5mm if anything. the offset of is300 wheels 50+ makes the rear wheels appear they are too inward if you know what i mean. You need for them to stick out a tad bit more. Congrats on the tien's...
