i actually ended stopping at circuit city to look for a case for my iPod and while i was there figured i would take a look at the car audio stuff..they just happened to have the same one on sale and said they could have me installed and ready to go in 2 hours so i jumped on it..i got in after the install and was amazed it works beautifully..the touch screen is very quick reacting, it moves pretty fast from source to source, good reception on the tv tuner..theres only a couple real let downs: the parkin brake thing is really annoying, itll let you listen to a tv station but the it shows this blue screen reading that its illegal to view video while driving, its also a lil slow to load a cd when u first put it in, and theres also no dimmer, other than that its fabulous..i couldnt ask for anything better for the price i paid..also this might just be a mistake on the installers part or maybe the unit is too deep for the factory opening but it looks like the unit doesnt quite fit in the slot, it sticks out from the dash about a half inch or so and u can see a tiny gap between the casing of the unit and the sides of the slot. i plan on taking it to another installer to see what they think and if they say its a bad install ill take it and see if i can my money back

Which equipment did you wind up getting? Different manufacturers use different methods...

the install guy mentioned something that it was just 2 wires the hook up to the parking brake..i was thinking maybe if i took those 2 wires and grounded them maybe that would do it..or do i need some kind of switch?

If I remember correctly, you need the multi-step confabulator switch with the bi-directional flow modulator on it.

Haha I know :-D

I did a bit of research... Simple fix for ya:

Ground the wire that comes from the unit to the ebrake (CC connected this wire to the ebrake so you'll have to disconnect it and ground it). Make sure you ground it to a bare metal area, get a good connection to the chassis. You can then watch the unit while driving.

Actually dude, I can't varify that above information, so I'd call up a local audio shop and just ask... If you can't get the info from one, call up a few others until you get what you need. Even if they can't do it for you they should be able to tell you.

I think you need to first hook up the diflangilating duprepticepticle before attaching the multi-step confabulator switch don't you? Or is that only on the Gen 2?

;)
