wood trim fitament

i was workin on the 'lara the other day (finishing my paintin project for the wood trim) and cracked the piece on the passenger dash..i called a toyota parts place and the guy said that the piece from a 99 wont fit an 02..is this true or is he a dumbass becuz i was under the impression that these pieces were interchangable from 99-03??

99 will fit on an 02, but the wood on the 99-01 is a different color than the 02-03. He might have just seen a different part number and just thought it didnt fit.

99-01 is burlwood, 02-03 is mustard wood.

yea i dont care about the color since its being painted anyhow..i guess that might have been the reason he said it wouldnt work but like i told him all i need to kno is will it physically fit into the car and he was like no theres no way to get a 99 trim into an 02

Agreed with jon11582... might be because its a diff color that it has a diff part#

but itll fit... you might save on getting the Gen 1 due to obvious reasons
