oil in trunk

no its not mechanical, just a boring job.....i got the car about 10k miles ago, and noticed an oily smell in the car, but wasnt sure where it was coming from. pretty bad, couldnt leave clothes overnight or they would soak up the smell. so i checked it real quick and around the spare tire it was all dark and looked oily.

today i finally had some time to take a crack at it. first, the spare was pretty well stuck in the trunk floor and when i pulled it up some rubber was still sticking to the floor, i'll have to get some pics. the surface under the tire was pretty well stained with oil. i dont know what the previous owner carried or spilled. i tried using some dawn and comet but its barely coming up....so i'm looking for some kind of cleaner that might pull the oil up? any tips? what should i scrub with?

also, is there a trunk mat that fits under the spare?

dude just a rag and some elbow grease.........anything that supposed to cut oil/grime household stuff would prolly work great......

try wd40..goo gone..stuff like this..

if oil based and paint is no concern..denatured alcohol..acetone..this eats oil up..

when your done baking soda for a few days...

engine degreeser, but like other indicated..some kitchen products will work well! Elbow grease and plently of candles and/or baking soda thereafter!
