to access it, youd have to pull out the rear seat and rear side panels

Could be a loose sway bar bolt. Mine clunked bad and it was just that.

That pic in the middle of the Strut Mount looks a little beat up on the inside( where the actual strut goes through) Everything else could be okay but maybe just that will make the noise. It looks like the strut wasn't seated in the groove correctly.

I just lowered my back seats yesterday and cut through the plastic to make an "access" panel to be able to access the strut mount by lowerinng the seat. Works like a charm and with the seat up, you'd never know

that small collar goes on top of the strut mount, pretty much before you put on the center nut.

Wow the small collar happened to be on the bottom side of the strut mount so I put it on top, everything still the same, I still have the clank clank (or more like bang bang) noise. so that didnt fix any7thing.

I had the bang noise and when i replaced the rsb with trd it completely disappeared. I figured it was the rubber bushings.

Jesus Christ, Ive taken out the strut twice already. tomorrow I will super tight the sway bar and tape my digital camera underneath my bumper to find out where exactly where the loud clanking noise is coming from.
