An alternative to oil catch can

An alternative to oil catch can

Hey found this on "mr2oc.com" it from another forum.
Sounds like a great idea.
Just went to Home Depot to look at it, and that item, and it is massive. [as big as my fist...]
But then there is a problem you have have a bracket will have to be fabbed up to hold it somewhere.
And if you use syntheic oil than you have somethin' else.

I'm interested. The one in the mx6 pictures from Craftsman doesn't look that big. I'll go check it out.

Yeah Home Depot has Husky, and Sears has Craftsman.
You will have to make up a bracket to hold it in place.
You can use it, but if you use syntheic oil than you have to buy a metal bottom case.

I did this mod today. I used the Craftsman Air Line Filter ( 9 16008).
They only have one in stock, so I did the (Bank 2) breather to intake for now. I mounted the filter on the battery plastic shield.

What oil are you usin'????
Cause wit this alternative oil catch can you can't use syntheic oil, cause you will need a metal bottom.
But looks good man.
Too bad the Solara battery tray isn't like the Sienna......
Will have to find a place to mount it....

Today, I installed the catcher for the other side (from the PCV to the Supercharger intake barb. I used a different bracket this time, just a piece water pipe coupler.
Will see how much oil is trapped in two weeks when we take a trip to Lake Tahoe.

So do you have 1 or 2????
Cause the other side sound like a good idea.
Can you take a picture from the blow-by barb to where you have it located, cause that seems far to me.....

I have two oil catchers. Yes, the catcher for the PCV to the supercharger is a little bit farther so I moved it and it's now located here. The catch bottle was upgraded to metal (bowl, P/N 4203-50RF);
Image
After about 500 miles, here is the quantity of trapped oil on the catcher for the breather (Bank 2 side) to the intake hose.
Image
Now that the catch bowl is made of metal, the kit is now mounted on the valve cover.
