IMO I just don't trust sleeve coilovers. I mean yeah it gives you ride height adjustability and that's all compared to full coilovers where you adjust ride height, damper stiffness, spring rate, and camber. Rezilient, just get some Tiens installed, they give you a pretty nice drop and they'll ride fine with the KYB struts.(I'm assuming that the KYB struts are nearly new)

Update:

The install was successful.

FYI - The KYB + Ground Control combo is possible but requires some minor modification. The "perch" I mentioned earlier needs to be ground down to allow the red threaded sleeve to pass over it. The sleeve sits nicely on the shock plate, as mentioned before.

Thanks all.

Any pictures of the KYB's with the Ground Controls after they were re-done?

I'm curious to see how they look with the sleeve coilovers on a Solara.....also how is the ride?

Some pictures taken with my phone during the install.

So ya, it just needed to sit on the shock plate.

Now I'm having trouble with a "knocking" sound coming from the front end just whenever I turn the steering wheel left or right? Driving in a straight line (even over bumps) is smooth and knock free.

Any ideas??

prolly because the red sleeve is just chillin on the shcok mount. Its not flush. Springs have a rubber isolator and true coilovers have perches that are machined to be flush with the spring. I'd suggest you find some type of heavy duty rubber and place it under the red sleeve.

The Ground Controls didnt come with any rubber gasket although the stock springs DID have it. I will do what you suggest, but do you think there is any other spot I should look at also?
