When it rains and your car hits a puddle of water that is prety deep or somethin'. And you keep on drivin' does your car make a funky noise near the shifter???
Cause today was rainin' a little hard, and i ran through a little deep puddle in the road and the car near the shifter started to shake and vibrate, and the exhaust made a funky noise.
This has happened before, but all i do is put hte car in netural and rev the enigne a little and the noise goes away.
Also this has happened to me the first time, there was a knockin' noise near the shifter too, today.
That neva happened before......
And yes i have my exhaust bolts on there tight like an mofo, and a metal gasket too.
Have you guys had this problem??

Doesn't matter if you have the music blasting, you'll feel it not hear it.

Most Greddy's do that when it rains b/c the piping is bigger by the cat and then a lil smaller by the muffler. I though I was the only one with that problem but my boy who has a 4dr Civic has the same problem in the rain.

Its nothing to worry about. You can try to put something that is heat-resistant where the clunking noise is coming from under the car (I haven't gotten a chance to do so yet)...but its nothing to worry about.

and when your hearing the noise, you step on the gas ur rpm goes up but your car does not move any faster.. it just moves as if you are not stepping on the gas?

if it is.. you can check this thread. i still never figured out the problem

When i hear the noise it will go alittle but not normal.
I think the water coolin' the cataylic conveter is the best reason why it would do that.....
But not sure.....

well I never said blasting the music up will solve the pipe hitting the car under the shifter area. It does get rid of the annoying sound though

That is odd, I have never felt that with my custom exhaust.

I've felt this also. I usually just keep the RPMs low for a while and don't accelerate near the larger pools of water.

It's the exhaust moving through the pipes. It's called resonance. It happens on my Supra in the rain as well. It has something to do with the pipes being wet and changing the freq of the pipes.
