Is the TRD strut bar stronger than the factory one, or is more of a cosmetic difference? New curves, red color, etc. I've never actually seen one, so pardon my ignorance. Thanks.

(comments edited) Search, the s/c guys can't use the ebay bars due to clerance issues. For them, trd bar is the only bar that is usable. For anyone who's not s/c i'd suggest keep your stock bar.

But, I drive a convertible, which means I already have a strut bar. The question was regarding a difference in the TRD bar's strength or was it merely cosmetic (ie: shape).

Every V6 has a strut tower bar im pretty sure... the S/c sits higher in the engine compartment, so the TRD strut bar goes higher to accomidate for the S/C... probably not a worth while upgrade unless your S/Ced

EVERY solara has a front strut tower bar, 4cyl, V6, coupe, convertible.

No need to change from stock unless your getting S/Ced, an then it is purely for clearance. Also means theres no point to buy the ebay one, unless you just like shiny things. Not that theres anything wrong with that.
