Spindle/Knuckle question...

Front passenger side where the tie rod is connected to the knuckle, does not look aligned, there arent any scratched or bent marks on the knuckle, and the knuckle looks like pretty solid steel or something. Does anybody know if the knuckle can be rotated?

I am pretty sure thats normal. Are you having problems? Like the car pulling or weird noises?

Tie rod to steering knuckle

Postby PDX SuperSolara » Thu Jun 15, 2006 1:55 pm

It looks like you lifted the car up to take this picture. Naturally the knuckle is going to be drooping down since it is "unweighted". It looks like it should in this position.

The car is not lifted, parked in driveway, lots of play in steering. I looked at the other side (driver side) and it is nice and aligned flush againt the knuckle not like this side, I might of hit a curve, just wondering if the knuckle rotated or something. or if its rotatable or not.

since you mentioned you might have hit a curb...maybe the rod is bent or the ball joint is bad.
