Before i ask mt question thought i would share my bad luck streak on my poor lara.

since November
-October- car exterior pretty much mint

-november- mother borrows car. backs into tree. moderate scrapes to rear fender

-january- wash my car one day. go to mall. car gets keyed the whole length on the drivers side. completely ramdom...i think??

-march- washing my car in the backyard. go to pull on the hose a bit and a freaking window squeegee on a 10 foot pole comes crashing down on my rear quarter leaving a small dent and chipped paint

-May- at a buddies house drinking. he is telling me the story of how his girls cherokee was parked where my car is and a drunk driver hit it and flipped her car..she was ok..unfortunately as the cop said..10 min later we hear a light crash and glass bouncing down the road.. my freaking rear view mirror got side swiped and hit my hood with such force it actually rolled the outer edge by the winshield in about 90 degrees

-june 3rd- pull up to work..running a bit late. always stay about 6" from the curb as my rims are new and mint. because of me being late i parked on the street. a tree root forced a curb to angle out about 8" or so but it was really not that noticable from my angle and...grind. front right chrome lip has nasty ass digs in it

THATS it..she goes to the body shop as soon as a spot opens up.. Kinda funny huh??

Oh only thing not getting fixed it the rim.. and tips to making the digs a bit less noticable? polish out i assume?

Where can I get this so called "lara" and what company makes them. Seriously, if you cannot type SOlara then you must be very lazy. You can type four letters but not two more.

Next time, I'll just call my car So.

Wheel damage

Postby PDX SuperSolara » Thu Jun 15, 2006 1:44 pm

There is a place in Beaverton Oregon ( a suburb of Portland) that fixes screwed up wheel rims and wheels. They do a great job. I think they are called "Skips wheel werks" you might give them a call and send out your wheel if you don't know anyone local. While your car is in the shop would be a good time. Or check with custom wheel sellers in your area, they may know of a local place. Better luck in the future with the 'Lara.

Jim,
Haven't seen you post in ages, all I ever hear is about your torque rod, fuel mod, etc. Welcome back. This forum needs more informative people such as yourself to be active. Jon. p.s. what's new/how fast/etc is your Solara? If you've been lurking Im sure you've seen or are familiar with JoeB's (now TRD4Life's) Red Knight, Shishoda's (Tabasco) and PaladinGreg (Carbon Fiber Enforcer). They are all running some serious numbers.

The wheel repair guys do a great job on rims. I curbed one of the wheels on my 04 when I was pushed into a curb, trying to avoid an accident. It was chewed up all the way around the edge of the rim and also about 3 inches up all of the spokes. $50 bux later and an hour or so of the guy's time and it looks like brand new. I couldnt believe it. I got his card to call him next time I mess it up. I'd definately check for a rim repair place- they do an awesome job and are fairly resonably priced.

It's just a nickname, which for me a girl's name comes to mind (usually hot), so that's not a bad name. There's S2K for Honda S2000, The Bug for the VW Beetle, Rolla for Corolla, etc.
Beats "Goat" with "GTO" and "MOTHERFXCKIN' PIECE OF GOD-DAMNED KOREAN SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!" with Hyundais AND Kias though. :drinking:

Hell, here's a "Lara":

Hell, then again this is Angelina Jolie playing Lara Croft. :drinking:

I feel you man, I hydroplaned on the hgiway and hit a wall luckily only my bumper got screwed, but I still am driving aroudn with it. I was waiting at a bridge that decided to completely break and after 45 minutes I was going to be late getting back home and making it to work so I had to go over a median and scraped up both rear valences and the front drivers side, the front drivvers side being the worst. MY friend and I were installing my ntirous and he accidently knicked the edge of the engine bay right at the top of the fender and chipped it up preatty badly. It all just keeps coming.

Soon enough though you'll get everything cleane dup and it will all be good as new.
