2004 Redesigned Solara

Does anyone have, or can post a pic of the 2004 redesigned Solara? My buddy works at a Toyota Lexus dealership and they got a sneak preview of it. He says its sweet, and looks like a Audi TT/ES300 cross. Apparently to make it appealing to more than just the 40-something crowd. Thanks.

we've all searched for countless minutes for the new picture of the gen 2 solara, but without avail.

Audi TT (or you can say Soarer hehe) and ES (my friend said that the Solara already resembles the ES) so I would guess a chubby sc 430ish design 0_0

It's due out in Spring, so we should all just wait it out instead of creating (possibly) false ideas :D

Rumors are rumors. Toyota has been tight lipped about alot of the recent releases of vehicles. Just give it a couple weeks before it actually is supposed to come out.

Actually, my dad works For SET (south east toyota) and they showed all their employees the car. The word is that it looks a lot like an IS300 crossed with a SC430, and the engine figures were, "between 220 and 245".

We'll have to see...

Another thing, I heard the headlights look like across between an ES300 and the Celica, while the tail is very SC430, but with an Altezza option. The side is said to be very IS300 looking as well.

What does that mean? SET moves more cars and has more dealer and customer staisfaction than any branch of Toyota, not to mention it is more productive and profitable. It's not like Toyota motor Corp invites ppl who detail cars for SET to these meetings to see future cars, my dad works in the field making upwards of $450,000 a year helping dealers solve problems with selling cars. He also approves new products- rims, leather, sound systems, spoilers, body kits, aero add-ons, tires, ect for their cars. Again, what's to laugh at?

SET has more dealer and customer satisfaction than any branch of Toyota? Hahhaa...right...you tell that to TMS and Penske (Longo Toyota), worlds largest Toyota dealer and number 1 in volume sales for Toyota Motor Sales USA. :) SET and GST are known to add stupid new products your dad approves for Toyotas i.e. ugly pinstriping, ugly wheels, and etc for dealer profit. Why do you think it costs more to buy a Toyota in those specific regions than ANY other region in TMS' service area? Because SET and GST are really the middle man in buying a Toyota in those regions. I'd rather buy my Toyota untouched, straight from Toyota Motor Sales USA themselves without any of that added bull$hit markup or options that Gulf States and South East Toyota does. That's great your father works for them. I would never buy a Toyota in his region...even if I lived in those areas. ;)

Toyota Motor Sales has days for all dealers and whoever the dealers want to bring in product testing and evaluation for future vehciles. SET is nothing special. It's just a middleman for Toyota Motor Sales USA and the buying consumer. Perhaps you need to take a few marketing classes and such to understand these basic concepts.

my dad works in the field making upwards of $450,000 a year helping dealers solve problems with selling cars.

Okay if this is so, why are you resorting to buying a used Solara? I mean heck, if my parents were to buy me a car, i'd buy something brand new...not used. I'm sure your father doesn't make $450k a year, but perhaps the people who he's working with are. I don't really care what income he makes...if he does that's great. Do you have to brag about your dad to get your point across? So far it doesn't add up.

Anyways...back to the 2004 Solara discussion. Thanks!

Some info

Postby 70weeks » Tue Mar 11, 2003 8:34 pm

Here's what I can tell you:

The car will come out in the middle of April. It shares the same V6 engine as the Sienna and will show approximately 230 hp. The V6 will not be avaiable with a manual transmission.

There will be a sport package with a carbon fiber dash and aluminum pedals, body kit and a 3 pod gauge cluster in the dash above the center console.

The design is much more agressive than the previous with the hood sloping down in front. The headlights are ES300 style and the the rear end looks a lot like the SC 430.
