Back in Feb after I just bought my 04 Solara some of you asked me to post some pics. Well the waiting is over, I finally got around to it. Aren't you glad you didn't have to depend on me for something important. :-?

Check them out for your viewing pleasure........

Very nice Tribander! The Desert Sand Mica is a pretty rare color. Especially a modified one. There are a couple of them on this forum. Tacti has one that has one off gold plated headlights and gold trim taillights. It's too bad that those are the only set in existance. They'd look really good with your gold wheels and emblems.

A bunch of us will gather for a Toyota car show in Elmhurst, IL this August. (Elmhurst is a western suburb of Chicago.) It should be a very good weekend and I hope to have many SolaraGuys show up. You should consider coming down for the weekend. We'd love to have you with us. I'm sure we'll be doing something on Saturday, Sat night and the show is on Sunday.

Here is the thread from last year's show.

Suggestions/Question

Postby JMSinMaryland » Mon Jun 26, 2006 9:13 am

What size are those rims? Next time around for tires maybe you could go a little wider and lower the sidewall a bit. That way it'll give it a nice look when you lower it. I also suggest having the "bar" above the grill dipped gold to match your emblems.

Awesome suggestions! I have to do something about the lower grill as well. I agree on the size of the rims and tires. In fact, before I bought the rims several SolaraGuy members had suggested to others to go with the L A R G E R rims but I thought how can a 17" rim look small? Well they do and I think its because of the shinny metal on the outside of the rim. Next time I'll listen to you guys. I plan on going back to factory rims in the winter I'll try some different tires then. Should help keep the gold ones nice. Thanks for the input.

Correct

Postby JMSinMaryland » Mon Jun 26, 2006 9:40 am

My 18" Konig Unknown looks smaller than my 18" Konig Verdicts because of the same situation with having a lip, they visually take off an inch in diameter. I know the widest we can go on the Gen 1 (1999-2002) Solara and 1999-2001 Camry is 225mm wide without having to worry about potentially rolling the fenders. Probably with a larger Gen 2 like you have you could get away with a 235 or 245 depending on wheel offset, etc. When it's time check out Miata Tire Calculator (google search it) to keep your odometer accurate. BTW what size tires are on their now?
