Gen 1 Electrical Diagram .pdf?

Gen 1 Electrical Diagram .pdf?

Postby anttarz » Thu Jun 29, 2006 1:36 pm

I recently got a 1999 Solara SLE V6. The previous owner had an after-market security system that was not installed well and was eventually disabled. The poor installation and dissembling shorted a few things including the dome light, clock, passenger seat belt light, etc. A good friend of mine is a top mechanic for BMW volunteered to help me out and told me to find an electrical diagram to make sure we do a good clean job when redoin all the wiring and hopefully fix the non-working lights. Anyone have any clue where to find the diagram, preferably a .pdf.

Thanks

check the fuses; if the clock and dome light aren't working at the same time the fuse may have blown.

as for wiring:

Starter wire(+): skinny red in IGN. harness
IGN(+): thick black/yellow in IGN. harness
parking lights(+): green at fuse box in 13 pin plug on bottom right side
doors(-): red/white at fuse box in same plug as park. lights
lock(-): dark blue/white at fuse box in 25 pin plug on bottom left side
unlock(-): dark blue in same plug as lock wire
trunk(-): red/yellow in DKP; Driver's Kick Panel

*note: Door Lock/Unlock wire may be different and can also be found in DKP. (i think my car was green/lock, light green/unlock)

METER THESE WIRES FIRST!!
preferably with a digital multimeter.

I checked fuses first, two or three were no good (i replaced them, fixed some problems), i am pretty sure the bigger white fuse (not sure what it is for) is no good either, didnt replace it yet. Some idiot put a 25 in a 7.5 slot (if i remember correctly its the dome fuse), the fuse was melted a bit. I also noticed some burn on the wires under the driver side foot panel.
