Stock Lug nut ?

Stock Lug nut ?

Postby Koala » Mon Jul 03, 2006 5:17 am

Questions:
Are the lug nuts from that come with stock 16" aluminum rims
the same as the ones that comes from 15" steel wheels?
If someone can help posting pictures of the lug nuts that come with 16"
aluminum rims, that would be great.

I'm replacing my 15" steelies with stock 16" aluminum rims
on my 99 but I'm not sure if I need to buy a set of new lug nuts.
If I do, what size and type are they?
M12x1.5 ?
Acorn, tuner, mag, ...?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think stock aluminum rims
have conical seat lug holes.

Thanks guys.

Well, they actually are conical-seated, has a donut-type hole in the middle and has a permanent washer if I recall correctly from having to fix a mechanic's big screw-up yesterday  .

no they are not the same. But either of them will work for 15's. Only the shorter ones will work for the 16's (well both will work, but the center caps wont shut). I got some 15's for sale, LMK.

Thanks man, but I already bought the 16"
After more research, I found out that they look like this:

I found one for sale at a good price ($30 shipped).
They are ~1.5" long.
Not sure if that is too long?
Any help?

The lug nuts that go wit the 16" 6 spoke rims, looks like that but the top end is open.

Yeah what he said... Here's some stock ones that I have sitting around since I have wheel locks (note how you can see the "X" on my mousepad :drinking: ):

Yeah i have some custom wheel locks made out of the stock lug nuts.
Dad friend drilled a hole near the edge, and put a small SS rod through it, and hada slit cut in a socket to fit it.
so basically i'm rollin' on 2 wheel locks on each rim.....
