V6 rear spark plugs?

V6 rear spark plugs?

Hi, Im a new owner, and I was just wondering if any of you have any tips for getting to the rear spark plugs on this motor. Ive done many tune ups on many types of vehicles, but I cant even see the plugs on this motor. Do you have to remove the intake?

no you dont have to remove anything... i did this a few weeks ago, took about an hour tops....

when facing the car, you can reach back on the left side and feel the back left plug wire (its mostly all feel, its hard to see) but just pull the plug wire out, and then put the appropriate socket WITH the extension but WITHOUT the wrench, in the hole and turn with your hand until it grabs... THEN put the socket wrench on. Its much easier to do if you put the wrench on after you've got the socket and extension in the hole first.

The rear middle and right ones are easiest from the driver side. Again, just feel for the plug wire and be patient. It may take a little struggle but you'll get it.

Okay I resized it and I gave you all a fresh view of it from the other side, is that more to everyone's liking? Im still tripping on the rear spark plugs though, mainly because I have really big hands, and I can destinctly remember how uncomfortable it was changing the plugs on some of the v8s I have worked on. Perhaps I am not skilled enough to attempt it without sight. I definately give props to all of you that can bust it on this ride though!

Go get yourself a flourescent work lamp and sit it near the throttle body on the drivers side...this will help tremendously with finding the plugs from the passenger side.

I changed all of mine from the passenger side...just be patient and be prepared to really scrape up the hands and thumbs.

I know how you feel with the large hands...you wont be able to wear gloves, just bite your tounge and go with it. I would also recommend a couple of beers once you're finished. :)
