I was driving to work and I notice my A/C green light on the button started blinking and it wasnt cold anymore. I turned it off and back on and it worked just fine again. This is the first time that this has happen.

Does anyone know what could have happended? I was driving in a storm at the storm. 2 inch of rain and windy as heck type storm where you cant see the car in front of you other then the dim tail light type thing.

That happened to me a long time ago too while driving in a bad storm. Not sure what's up with that, maybe it was a precautious action or something got flooded temporaily or some sort... I wouldn't worry about it.

I had the same before where it blinked...

The manual says that when it blinks, the AC needs to be serviced... I brought it in to my shop and they fixed it.... works fine now

Do you guys ever think it could be the Compressor slipping on the belt? I keep thinking of that.

Mine will start to flash too after running a bit i think its cause refrigerant levels are incorrect. I tried asking my toyota dealer but they are a little retarded. Anyone know the appropriate a/c refrigerant level. It should be on an orange/yellow sticker on the compressor or radiator, not sure which (mine is missing).

A blinking AC light usualy means that something is wrong with the AC. From what I understand, it could be a minor thing, like a temporary glitch where the system is not working correctly, or it could be major.

It happened to me in an older car, and te refrigernant needed recharging (back when they still used CFCs).

I guess it's just a warning that you should get it checked out.

I drove a '96 Camry coupe for 8 years. Put 255,000 miles one it. When ever I drove over a puddle or it rained a lot the A/C would light would blink, I'd turn the A/C off. Wait awhile and turn it back on. It was so common, that I expexcted it. There is nothing wrong with your car.

Its a glitch in the system when it gets wet. The A/C light is designed to blink when it needs serviced but rain puddles causes a lot of problems temporarily.

I find it strange that a lot of you have trouble with your AC in the rain. It rains here ALL the time and I never have trouble. When I say rain, I mean RAIN!

Drove to Tampa tonight and there was a downpour for at least 30 minutes...no issues.

Drive over a nice big puddle w/ the AC on.
Not the rain, just the puddles that the rain creates.

Steve-o: I guess you aren't familiar with FL weather...the torrential downpours cause a ton of standing water...I have to drive through standing water all the time, still, never had the issue. Just leads me to believe there is something wrong with the units that are doing this.
