Wow Greg that sucks......
You should check wit Bendell Racing [spellin' of Bendell correct] i heard he was good.
Anyways sorry to hear that you got screwed on that.
This should be a sticky, so you don't have to keep on bumpin' it up.
Good luck Greg.

I hope everything works out for you bro. I dont want to come back to that shop again since I bet he knows now I lied to him..

I came into his shop awhile back pretending I wanted a custom 1MZ built and took pictures of the place( Well I did wanted an engine built but seeing the place I wanted to puke). I mean there were blocks lying all over the place and Gabes parts were all scattered. I saw all of your stuff too Greg and it wasnt like clean. It was just sitting there. The guy when I came in was just sitting around chillin.

Founded this.
We've had 2 blocks that had the pistons in backwards when he(John Day) worked at stoid. Needless to say we do not recomend Stoid or Day. Plus all the sleeves we've seen drop from when day worked at stoid, kinda puts a bad taste in your mouth.

hmm...i should take over the 1mz building around here. Stoid sucks, huh? Thats bad news for alot of people on here. I could see a few cases of dirt contamination but sounds like they are sloppy people or something. How does someone know how to set up the timing on a 4 cam engine but not know that cleanlinest is number 1? Scary. Good luck and please enlighten us on your story. Catostrophic failure? Low oil pressure? I mean dont leave us hanging, i wanna know what happened.

I'm not going to hold anything back. We have not fired her up yet. Still disassembling to identify potential problems.

This is very disheartening. After reading about the MR2 that won the USCC with a 1MZ-FE built by Stoid, I thought Stoid would be the foremost professional and premier expert on said engine. I was already saving my money and even exchanged emails with him concerning my project. I made plans to visit his shop and get some work done. All I can say is, "say it ain't so".
If Stoid is not as professional as I had hoped, who is? Is anybody an "expert" in tweaking and tuning a 1MZ-FE?

same thing happened to me

Postby trd4life » Sun Jul 09, 2006 6:48 pm

I am also having problems with Stoid. I ordered a fully built 1mz-fe from him for my Red Camry last year and still have not received it! He doesnt answer my calls, respond to emails or anything. I requested all my money back but he kept saying "its almost done". Well here we are 18 months later and i have received nothing, and on top of that he is acting like a SCUMBAG regarding gregs engine. The only reason i went with Stoid was because of the sport compact car article claiming stoid was this master engine builder, the f uc k i n g guy has dirt in his engines that he sells. The guy is a f u c k i n g asshol e. If i wasnt all the way across the country i would go there and blow his teeth down his throat.

I urge you guys to post about Stoid on as many forums as you can such as supraforums.com, honda-tech.com, NASIOC.com, ans whatever DSM forums you guys know of. Stoid Racing needs to be shut down asap.
