Suspension Question

Hey everyone, how's it going? I'm new here, so I don't really know what
I'm doing. Anyways I got 2 question on suspension.

1. I was reading that the people that have JIC coils had a problem with squeaking, is that fixed now?

2. Tein is making a coilover suspension for our car, which would be better the JIC or TEIN?

1) The squeaking problem I think is an isolated issue with installation. Don't quote me on that.

2) It was rumored Tein was gonna make a coilver system...but it hasn't really surfaced since Tein USA brought it to our attention last August at the big Toyota/Lexus meet we had in Carson. Which would be better? Both make great coilover systems, but JIC FLT-A2's are the only coilover system that you can lower without losing suspension travel. And the only available one out right now is the JIC so yes, the JIC is your only choice to date.

B & G suspension makes a full coilover system for the solara, with a drop of up to 3.5 inches. the only thing is that i dont know if the damper has adjustable setting to tweak the ride quality. but i still think the JIC is the best, but expensive

Your oem strut, tokico and trd/bilstien units travel exactly the same distance up and down on oem springs. When you put them on lowering springs, you have less suspension travel for your struts to move up and down. With a conventional coilover system, you lower your car, the more compressed the spring goes down and the shock piston's travel shrinks with it. The travel i'm refering to is how much movement the shock absorber has as the ride height is decreased.

The noise from the JIC coilovers is inherent in their design. They use solid metal pillow ball joints, and these are designed to move around like your shoulder socket. Thing is, it's metal on metal, so it makes a clanking noise. Doesn't decrease performance, but it does get annoying to listen to.

Tein won't come out with anything...I'll buy a round of drinks if they do.

I've heard that before and I don't discount that it's a possibility but if that is the case then why don't the front pillowballs make that sound?? Especially since the front suspension carries more weight.

I haven't heard much about the coil over options out there...but...i read somewhere recently...that tein is going to make the system for the solara.....if they do make it....i know people who have tein suspension in other car models who say that they're really good...so....
