Steering intermediate shaft (1999 Solara)

Hi everyone!
I have a strong knocks in the steering wheel everytime i drive on small bumps on the road. Took my car to the service , checked the suspention everything is ok. They said that this is the steering intermediate shaft which causes the problem. Id like to know if anybody had the same problem and if it will help me.
