hmmm...do the numbers add up??
i guess i just dont get it. This has been buggin' me for quite a while now and i just decided to get it off my chest now. a lot of people have been stating some snail slow times for the auto solara v-6. a stock camry sedan LE with the V-6, 192 hp and torque at 207, ran 0-60 in 7.8 seconds and the ¼ mile in 15.9 seconds at 86.1 miles per hour in the 02/98 issue of motortrend. ok, so the sle v-6 solara has 6 more hp and 5 more torque, the solara might weigh a little more than the sedan so just negate the extra power. and i am aware that all tests are relative to the testing conditions and such and that different cars might post different times on different days. but lets be realistic here, there might be a few tenths of a second difference in the performance times but certainly not a ½ - 1 second difference as some people have mentioned on this forum before. that would be like testing a car with 2 or 3 extra passengers maybe. also, i am not saying that everyones stock solara sle v-6 can run a 7.8 0-60 and a 15.9 ¼ mile every single time what i am saying is that, everyones car is different and the numbers all depend on the conditions and the car. on a side note, even just adding a few mods like exhaust, intake, and tires (for a better launch) has the potential of bringing those times down another tenth or two! Finally, (sorry i know this is long) i am not trying to be hostile to any other members on this forum, so don't take my rambling for anything but face value. i am just stating some of my thoughts and opinions after reading some threads and links of other conversations about this topic. ight, Peace Out (if you have had the time to actually read all this!)
