Partial Dyno Numbers

Postby dominoSLEV6 » Sat Jul 22, 2006 7:04 pm

Yeah, dyno loading and information can cause an uproar very quickly. You don't know how much psi the car was on while it was on the dyno, and you don't know how the dyno was calibrated to boot.

http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showth ... =is300+900

there is a very good example of what I'm tlaking about. To give you an idea of who's who in that argument if you rean it, MKIV4life has had his car on the cover of modified and has sicne sold it but it is one of the most well known Supras in the Community, and Ryan Woon needs no introduction to anyone who knows anythign about Supras, fastest and quickest 6spd Supra in the world. I tend to side with them on the matter.

chris. we cant see that sh!t on the supra forums unless we register. how about a quote from it.

Greg. hope all goes well. ill be pushing my car up there in the intercooled boost department soon and will be hitting the same wall with tuning. I wanted the tec3r because it would provide the easiest tuning, i feel it is overkill on a street car and beyond my budget for one part. Im sure it is worth it though. I will probably go with the emanage blue if i find out you have gotten your car fully tuned using one. I think i remember you talking about that tec3r. were you really going to spend 2-2500 on one? thats about as cheap as i see them new.

though if i find one for 1500 its mine.

oh and one more question do u plan on pushing the psi up beyond 12?

The only reason I dropped the TEC 3R is because I could never pass the OBD II vehicle inspection for registeration. I plan to have a legal street car, with some extras.

I forget the price but it was not cheap. I don't think I'll keep the E-Manage Blue, too many unknowns even when tou call Greddy.

No 12 psi is the max I think.

More to follow.

OK, the temperature is too hot. We got a good driving tune and I've been without my car for 11 months. We have had a week of 110 (+) days with no relief in site.

I'll bring it home as soon as we replace the knock sensors.

More later.

I was going to run the Emanage ultimate in my Talon before I decided to sell it, maybe that's what you wanna try. The thing I liked about that was the autotune feature that intergrated with a wideband. Otherwise the TEC3 is nice, my friend runs that in his Celica and it works great, a cool feature about this is the overboost protection. You can set a certain PSI level and once that Map Sensor reads above that it cuts fuel, or spark I don't remember which.

The HKS F-con is pretty nice but only HKS Pro dealers can tune them cause the software comes locked.

On the subject of MR2 (GM) knock sensors. Here is the latest from the MR2 club.

Didn't know it was for a Solara...that's an ECM that's still up in the air since the adapter was meant for the 3S-GTE only.

I got a full refund.

UPDATE - 29 July 2006 - Well we did a little de-tuning (smaller SC pulley/fuel mapping adjustments) to allow me to get the car through smog inspection (check engine light). We have some ideas for the fuel and timing or lack of, that we will try next week. I just had to get her home for the weekend its' been almost one year (11 mos). The car runs good and sounds so even better.

If you're in the AZ area you must go to ADS for any and all car work. Those guys got their stuff together. It's so good to finally work with pros.

Oh yes, the intake air temp. Back in DE where it is cool compared to here my IAT (non-intercooler) ran 150 (+) all the time. With the PSE intercooler mod on a hot AZ day I'm running right at 100 (+/- 10) not to bad. :D

Thanks ADS and PSE!!
