I got 4 OEM toyota filters, 1 K&N filter, 4 quarts of mobil 1 for free. I was planning to do my very first DIY oil change but I guess that idea gone .

Considering how cheap oil changes are, is it really worth while to DIY?

More than once i have let a quick lube type place change my oil and it be a whole quart low! I had a v8 dakota before the solara and it took 6 quarts, most places would only put 5. WTF! I took my 4runner there and they only put 4.5 quarts in!(4.7v8) so yeah I personally would rather do it myself.

Ack! I never let the dealers do my oil changes! Even when I've brought my own K&N filter and Mobil 1 they tried to charge me for oil and both filters (Oil & Air - I had a TRD rechargeable in it!)

Plus they gave me 1 quart of the Mobil 1 back since they thought the 3.4 V6 Tundra only took 5 qts - so I had to add it myself (which I did before I left the dealership - right in front of the service dept and all the customers waiting to pick up their cars. :D

I drive 20+ miles to go to Oil Can Henry's in Brea - worth the trip because they do everything with you still in the car and you can watch the guys below on a TV screen. They also keep a db of your car on their computer so you get the exact same service every time. Never had an issue with them at all.
