but 18s would be bad with a 1.75" drop
which is what im gonna be rockin about a week after purcashing these rims

id hafta get like 35 series tires
which is too damn skinny for the kind of racing i do.
i need 40 or 45 series rubber

With 18's you should run 40 series tires.. not 35. That would make the diameter if the wheel small thens tock throwing your speedo off.

I am running 19 with 35 and lowered about 1.7" and dont have problems.

if i run 18 with 40size then 1.75 drop and 1.6 drop in back ( setting my suspension to have a heavy 12 in the back ) then wouldnt I rub?

depending on the offset of wheels you wont. if its 18x7.5 run a +42 or +40 offset with 225/40/18 tires and you will not have problems at all.

If you want to talk about a heavy trunk mine was heavy as hell. My drop in the rear was 1.5" and with my custom trunk it was almost 2" drop. I have no gap between the tire and fender.

1.75 and 1.6 is nothing. You will still have a 2 or 3 finger gap in the rear.

Suggestion

Postby JMSinMaryland » Fri Jul 28, 2006 7:02 pm

The perfect plug and play fit is an 18x7.5 with a 45 mm offset riding on 225/40 18's. I put in my vote for Yokohama Avid H4s in that size and get dropped first. Jon.

Yo Chunks I do like the choice of rims, I think they will look hot, but do get 18's. Sap Z is right the lip makes them look smaller. Look at my car for an example.

Yeah I used to have a similar set of rims. . . you may check them out on my cardomain site. . . too bad you live in Harbor City. . . If you were close to San Jose I would have told you to stop by America's Tire Co and I could have got you a good deal on those wheels and tires

man
the consensus seems to be 18"
im just PARANOID about rubbing

BTW speaking of lowering does anyone have ground controls? What kind of struts should i run with ground control to maintain a like stock ride but stiff turning?

if you dont wanna roll, 42+ is the best.. 19x7.5 righ there.. or 19x8 38+ etc.

check indiglosolaras faq.. he has owned more wheels than anyone here

go with 18s at the minimum though.. 17s are too small looking 225/40/18 is the perfect tire size to keep from rubbing the strut & the fender well
need wheels? www.memoryfab.com - ask for david
