I know the 6 spoke TRD rims are made by another company. I can't remember! Damnit. Who really makes the TRD 6 spoke and will their model work with the TRD centercap setup? Is their wheel the EXACT same as the TRD? I bent one and don't know if I want to get it straightened or get a new "non TRD" rim. Straightening is about $130. Thanks.

The TRD rim is aka TSW Revo. I'm not sure about the interchangability of the centercap but I wouldn't see any reason why not. Jon.

Cool. I knew you guys would know. Looks like it has been discontinued, so I'm going to prolly get mine straightened. Do you think it would be okay to put some wood and cinder blocks under my car (in the garage) while the wheel is being straightened? I figure the spare is going to be a 16" rim and I'm afraid that the car will be uneven (TRD's being 17's) and bend a suspension part if left to weightbear for a couple weeks. With lumber and blocks, I think I can eyeball it pretty level.

Thanks for the ebay link; I'll watch it. It looks worse than mine except for my bent one!

The diameter of the stock 16" and the TRD 17" are supposed to be similar, i.e. you O.D. so just mount the stock back on. Even if you were to drive around with it you'd be ok. Check out Miata Tire Calculator to put in your specs and see how close you are. Relax. Jon. p.s. keep the wood in your pants and off the car.

while the rim is being fixed id throw 2 stock rims back on, either both rear or both front depending on where the bent rim was located.

That's what I was thinking; it should be about 99% the same. It just doesn't sound like a 16 and 17 inch rim could be equal (even though I have the smaller tire profile on the 17) when on the car. I do not want to have something wear uneven because I "mixed" rims sizes. I'm sure I'd be cool, though. Hopefully, I can ship mine out this week and get it straight...

You will be fine with the stock rim, The 16 may be smaller but the tire is bigger, and obviously the 17 is larger but you have a smaller diameter. If you have a 45series tire on the 17's and a 55 series tire on the 16 the overall diameter is the same. Plus for a few days if they were off it still wouldnt hurt the car

I was watchin' it too. I'll prolly bid. I called 2 Toyota dealers just to see what an OEM replacement would cost and neither of them had an answer! First dealer called me back to say they needed to see the car and the VIN to see if they could "help me out." Next dealer said he didn't know if they were discontinued, but couldn't find a part number. He went to the TRD site, which I had been to as well, and told me that the wheels section was "coming soon." I knew that, but he tried. What kind of product support is that? I hope HFP doesn't end being like that, too...
Anyone know what ONE would cost new? I figure about $200 anyway. Sleeper, what did you get your set for? I'm thinking of getting mine straightened and maybe picking up ONE extra because these seem kinda fragile. Plus, they have a lot of open area "sweet spots" between the spokes that can't take too much of an impact. Thanks for all the info; I think I can safely roll on the factory spare for a quick minute.

UPDATE: I was going to ship it to MA, but two dealers told me there was a place locally. I went with them. They straightened it ($95), welded a crack ($35) and painted the rim ($20). The crack was on the inside of the wheel. Since the bend was on the face of the rim, it was cosmetic, so they had to paint the welds. They welded both sides of the crack, ground the weld down, trued it up, and painted it. It looks hella tight. They bake the finish on, too. It was a problem, however, because there is a threaded hollow pipe type deal that the red TRD nut screws into. It is pressed on, we think. They were able to leave it in and true it, but they were worried because it sticks out from the rim. That threaded piece was on there TIGHT. $156, but c'est la vie. Neither Toyota dealer could quote me a price on a replacement, but they guessed well over $300. Anyway, it's all good and mounted on the car.

I got mine for $400 shipped wit tires, and lugs.
But went out and bought new lugs anyways.
The TSW center cap in the very middle has a TRD decal on top of that.
Which is gay IMO.
But i ordered another new set of center cap that has TSW on it.
And the old one, i'm goin' to see if i can mod them to take out the TSW thingy and put the TRD one on there flush.
I also won that single one that was posted.
Were you the one that was outbiddin' me??
