so im seriously considering getting some aftermarket leather installed in the car now, black on the outside and red down the center. i know katzkin sells a kit, but are there any other brands? also, for ppl that have done this, if i could see some pictures and get an idea of how hard self-installation is. thanks.

How is the wear and tear on suede seats? I know that the leather seats, after a while, stretch and then wrinkle a bit. But, I've never seen how suede wears over time on a seat.

Also, that leather wrap for the steering wheel looks interesting. I was going to replace my whole steering wheel because the leather is wearing in certains spots. I think that would amount to about $500 to $600. But, if I can just change the leather for $60 per Leatherseats.com's universal kit, then that would be a huge savings.

I don't know where you can get good prices, but I can tell you that I know someone who did this, and it came out looking really nice and held up well. They did it in an 03 or 04 (can't remember what year it was) Civic because they couldn't get leather in the car.

They took it to a local shop and they did all the work for about the same price (maybe a little less) as stock leather would have cost.

The shop did a really good job making it look like stock...the seams looked good and the quality was good.

I highly recommend katzkin although I'd have a shop put it in.

If you are going to try and do it yourself, you can order the kits from http://www.atd1.com. James from ATD has hooked up a few members in the past.

Has anyone tried the Universal Leather Steering wheel wrap from leatherseats.com or wheelskins.com?? I was wondering how the results look. It looks like that it just gets the circular part of the wheel and not the "prongs" that go from the ring part to the center/air bag part. Is that right? Can anyone clear this up for me?

That a nice combo, if it fits the look of your car. So, if it does, go for it.

Maybe a little darker on the black?
