TRD RSB Bushings

TRD RSB Bushings

Postby Akui » Sat Aug 12, 2006 12:16 am

Hey guys,

I just picked up a TRD RSB for my car (thanks RGZTOY). I was looking into getting some special bushings for it, and I recall some people on the forum mentioning Energy Suspension Bushings. I searched but didn't find a specific part number. What I did come up with was this buy on autozone.com

http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?UseCase=C001&UserAction=performMoreDetail&Parameters=TRUE%7C%7EBushing+-+Sway+Bar+Bracket%7C%7ENONE%7C%7EENERGY-SUSPENSION%7C%7EBlack+++++++++++++++%7C%7EFALSE%7C%7EFALSE%7C%7E355175%7C%7E1683%7C%7E8.5120G%7C%7ERear+set%3B%7C%7E%248.99%7C%7EToyota%7C%7ECamry+Solara%7C%7E2000%7C%7ENONE%7C%7E0.2%7C%7ENONE%7C%7EV

Can someone tell me if this is the right one? Also, does anyone know if this is a full set (2 bushings) or just a single? The page says "Bracket" in the singular, but the page listing all the bushings for the car

http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker/?UseCase=C001&UserAction=answerRequiredQuestion&Parameters=%7C%7ERear+suspension&PageSync=4

labels it as a "rear set".

Thanks a bunch!

Why do you need "special" bushings for it?? The TRD RSB shouldve come to you with replacement bushings to fit the thicker rsb

did you not get them or just want something different?

I actually haven't received the bar yet. I was just doing some preparation in advance.

Is there no gain to be had by getting better bushing for the bar? I've heard a lot about squeaking after installing the bar, and I was trying to minimize on that. I remember people saying that they wrapped teflon tape around the bar where the bushings met, used marine grease for the bushings, and used energy suspension bushings all as a measure against the squeaking. I was just looking to do the same.

Do you think I would be better off just sticking with the bushings that come with the bar?

Just use those bushing that it comes with.... replacement bushings found in local parts store will probably not fit to the thicker bar... they MAY have larger ones, but why go thru the trouble if its already provided to you

when ur about to install the bushings and the rsb, put that tape on the bar (i never had to do that), and put on a lot of the grease (also provided but not much) on the inside of the bushings... u should be fine

Well i have had the teflon tape and White Lithium Grease on there, and now squeeks so far, except for the rear control arm poly bushin's.

no need for new bushings. they should come with the bar, make sure you grease the insides of the bushings really good when you do the RSB install so you won't get any squeaks.

I had the squeaking problem and I regrease the thing twice. It never stopped sqeaking. Over time from driving it the squeaking stopped on its own. So I guess it needs to be broken in.

One comment to add. If you have any problems lining up the brackets with the mounting holes it might be due to the alignment of the rear end. If it is out of alignment you might need an extra set of hands to help you stretch/pull or whatever to line up the bolt holes. Several people have had this problem like myself. Once I got it on the bushing was a little sideways until I had the alignment done then the bushing aligned up against the bar stop that TRD put on.

Well i tightened the end links for the TRD RSB and the bushin' brackets didn't line up, so i have to loosen the end links and then bolt up the bushin' brackets and then the RSB end links.
