Six-speeds

Ok just because I have to have everything about my car straight custom(car club name). The new 07 Camry has a six-speed tranny. Could it be applied to my 2az-fe. The engine base is the same with a few tweaks here and there. If it would work besides the obvious space and cost issues could there be anything else I might run into.

I'm not a swap expert...but careful to what you read. I would ask CamrySE-soCALlara he did some engine swap and maybe some tranny swap.

The new Camry I4 hasn't the 6-speed tranny !! The 2GR-FE doesn't have the same base as the 2AZ-FE...be aware

Tranny swaps are NOT just unbolt one and swap. The 5spd and 6spd are electronicaly controlled thus the ECU needs reprogramming.

Isnt the 6spd in the new Camry ONLY for the 2GR-FE? If so, I dont think theres a chance in hell it will fit on a 2AZ.

Camry trannys do not bolt on like that. The 6AT is for the 3.5 2GR-FE while the 2AZ only has a 5AT which is likely to bolt on, but it was designed for the ACV30 platform, not ACV20 so the fit may not be perfect.

Not worth it =P If the tCs pulling crazy power get enough attention aftermarket transaxles might get made for better gearing through all that power... but it's still doubtful. Afterall, FWD is basically only good for drag right? =P The torque steer kills everything.
