Can you please direct me to the relevant threads. I am sure these have been discussed before. Will be replacing soon. Do I go OEM? My past experience with other cars tells me to do so. But would like some input. Thanks. By the way, what is the OEM tire brand 205-60-16?

Best recommendations.

Brake pads go OEM, or if you want more stopping power, but more dust and less brake life, go with Hawk HPS pads.
Rotors go Brembos (no slots, no drills)
Tires, DONT go oem. The OEM tires are pretty bad. I cant really give you a recommendation. I used to use Kumho Ecsta 716 HP4s, great tires and cheap to boot but the sidewalls are weak, I kept getting bubbles in them. Just go to www.tirerack.com and find out whats good.

Might also help if you mention what tire size you're running. What is available varies from sizes. Generally though the wider and lower profile, the better your options for high grip tires. I'd say if you can get em go with BF Goodrich Gforce T/A. Great dry tire and closest you'll get to a race tire for the street. Downside will be noise and short tread life and not the best for the wet, but if you're all about handling, way to go if you can get them. Goodyear Eagale F1GSD3s are great too. Great in the dry and wet, but useless in the snow.

For brakes, like the man above said, go with a more aggressive pad and just regular brembo rotors should be good. Also if you want, go with SS lines and replace your fluid with something that is high temp. boiling point. Not sure what's compatible with ABS systems. Never owned a car with ABS.... yet.

what about Nitto tires? or YokohamaA??..
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,

I use discounttiredirect.com sometimes. I just bough Yokos avid h4s and i could be happier. It was 280 shipped for all four, plus they have a 500 treadwear rating and aa traction. Also they are very quiet and good handling tires, i highly recommend.

Shh, don't tell him about the Avids. It's the best secret in the tire industry. If Yoko starts realizing what they have their going to jack up the prices.

For Gen1/1.5, stock is 205/65/15 for 15" steels and optional alloys on the SE, and 205/60/16 for 16" alloys, optional on SE and standard on SLE.
