retrofitting my gen1 headlight w acrua TL bi-xenon projector

I sent my headlights to custom lightz last week for a TL BI-xenon retro, and the owner called me back yesterday saying I need to find out how much clearance I have below the light, because the TL has a pretty big solenoid that will go under the light. It's their 2nd solara retro so he has no idea wether it will fit.

He said I'll need about 2 inches just to be safe, but as far as I can see under my hood, it's pretty cramped. Does anyone know from past experience how much free space i have under a gen1 headlight?

i have another option to use BMW X5 bi-xenon, but the owner said it's not as nice as the TL ones.

The headlights fit forward of the core support, and above the bumper frame. I would suggest you continue to use TL, and if that solenoid is too big just do some modifying of whatever is below the headlight. It can't be that bad...

TL.
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.

I would say use the bi-xenon, cause you will be able to keep your high beams.
I've seen pictures of high beam on TL projectors and they don't look very nice, IMO.
There should be room under the headlight housin'.

Go with the TL man, Acura has pretty decent projectors.
