this happened last saturday. but to make a long story short, some drunk lady hit my car while i was behind her watching and tried to take off. well, she got arrested and i pressed charges. so anyway, she hit my passenger side bumper and knocked the paint off. she wasn't going fast, probably like 2mph, but enough to move my car a couple inches from its original spot. anyway, i thought the front bumper was the only damage done becaue it was the only noticeable thing. but when i start the car, the ABS lights come up. and everytime i make a full turn to where the steering wheel locks up, i can hear and feel the front tires rubbing against something. what sucks is, i just got my car lowered with the eibach/tokico combo that night and was picking up the car. so i dunno what the deal is. but the officer and lady who hit my car both left me voicemails too. she's got progressive insurance...just my luck. i guess she's used to this kinda stuff. but anyway, any suggestions on what to do/say? lemme know. oh yeah, i'm planning on painting my whole car so if that helps anything..... thanks.

Get her ins policy number, and phone number and make a claim.
Also tell the ins abt. police report.

Prepare some list of stuff that you wanna tell,
they will put you on recording. and make sure you cover everything.

I just been through the accident so still fresh in my mind.

If you have a good insurance company let your insurance company handle it. I use State Farm and when my last car got totalled by a drunk I had a check for more than the value of my car within 2 days. Insurance companies will try to dick you around if you are an individual, so unless you are confident and won't let them push you around I'd let your insurance company handle it.

I prefer direct billing.
Just go to the body shop of your choice and let them do the billing.

All you have to do is point out where the damage is.
(I have never guessed that my bill come out as $6700+)
There is no way the insurance will issue that amt. of money imo.

well, the lady called me back today. i got my car estimated at a toyota dealership and they gave me a print out of it. the total was like $800 something. anyway, she called me today and said she didn't want to go through her insurance and i told her she could write me a check for the damages after i get my car estimated. my friend's a mechanic at a performance shop and he said he'll write me a good estimate tomorrow. so thank goodness she didn't go through her progressive insurance. thanks for all your inputs, you guys. oh, and what the deallyo with all these solaras getting into accidents lately?? wtf?!

dude, make sure she pays. i know a few people that have been scammed like that. when the time came to pay up, the person played dumb and wouldn't pay a dime.
