NEW WHEELS

Question

Postby JMSinMaryland » Tue Aug 22, 2006 12:57 pm

What size tires are you running that you're rubbing? An 18x7..5/45 or 18x8/40 is the perfect plug and play sizes for 99-03 Solara and 97-01 Camry. I'm thinking if you're rubbing you're running wider than a 225/235?? Jon.

the 5zigens are ok. how much are you trying to spend?

Previously mentioned, i'm running 225/40/18 +45mm offset with TOKICO struts.

And trust me it's rubbing, if not then it's mighty close. close enough to leave marks on my struts.

what color are you getting?

95% going with Silver
it comes in Silver, Hyper black, or bronze
What do you guys think?

Good choice on the rims man, I've seen your car around town a few times. Bronze would look pretty sweet imo. Could be the reason you're rubbing the struts is the tire you are using, just depends on manufacturer if it does or not. I have +40 and ran 235 fuzions and even that was fine.

My Opinion

Postby JMSinMaryland » Wed Aug 23, 2006 10:38 am

Bronze leaning more towards gold. That would really set it off.

http://www.autowaretech7.net/nextwheels/tirepro.htm might help you. Jon.

Yeah, i've seen your car around here also.
You work for Toyota right?

235 wow, how did you manage that.

I'll prob. go up on the sidewall (225/45/18 instead of 225/40/18) with these tires. tired of the gap

Bronze leaning more towards gold....id go with bronze or hyper black

Everyone likes the gold huh,
I'm leaning on towards the straight silver.

so 18 with +43 offset on 225/45/18 wont rub right?

nah no toyota, maybe that's another guy haha. I've seen another white one with the trd kit and wheels, maybe that's who you mean? The +43 should work fine, do you know what kind of tires you're gonna go with? I remember there is a site that shows actual tire widths so you can compare what the brands actually are vs. their spec measurements. Lemme try and find it.

yeah... yeah it's the white one. dude lives like a few blocks from me. i see him all the time.

i'm gonna go with the Kumho ASX.
gonna start going with the all weather because i can fully rotate them.

i'm running on the Kumho Escta MX rite now (really sticky).

always been a kumho person, cheap and good performance.

Congrats on your buy. They do look nice.

But I honestly think your previous wheels set off your entire car more.
Its probably the lip on the new wheels that make the wheels look smaller?

but hey on the up side, both wheels look pretty darn easy to clean :D
Retired... its been fun Image
